Hershey's Cocoa Cake
1/2 cup shortening 2 cups sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 eggs 3/4 cup Hershey's Cocoa powder | 1-3/4 cups unsifted flour 3/4 teaspoon baking powder 3/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/8 teaspoon salt 1-3/4 cups milk |
Directions:
Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla and eggs and beat well. Sift dry ingredients together and add to egg mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Pour into cake pans. Bake about 30-35 minutes at 350° or until cake tests done. Cool ten minutes; then remove from pans. When cakes are completely cooled, frost as desired.
