Virginia Apple Pudding
1/2 cup butter or margarine 1 cup sugar 1 cup sifted flour 2 teaspoons baking powder | 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1 cup milk 2 cups sliced cooked apples, drained |
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°. While it's heating, melt butter in a 2-quart casserole. Combine sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and milk. Stir to make a batter and pour into the casserole on top of the melted butter. Pile the apples in the center. Bake until batter rises over the apples and the crust is browned, about 30-40 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream, whipped topping or pudding sauce.
Notes:
Canned apples may be used in this recipe from my mother's recipe files.
