Snickerdoodles

1-1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
2-3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400°. In a large bowl, combine 1-1/2 cups sugar, margarine, shortening, and eggs. Beat together until smooth and well blended. Add flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Blend well. Shape dough into small balls about the size of a walnut. Mix 3 tablespoons sugar with cinnamon and roll each ball in the mixture. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes until cookie is set and lightly browned at the edges. Remove from cookie sheet and cool on a rack. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.

Love At Home

There is beauty all around
When there's love at home.
There is joy in every sound
When there's love at home.

Roses bloom beneath our feet,
All the earth is a garden sweet,
Making life a bliss complete,
When there's love at home.
