Oatmeal Gumdrop Cookies

1-1/4 cups flour
1 cup quick oatmeal
1 cup finely cut up gumdrops
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°. Stir together flour, oats, baking powder, soda and salt. Add gumdrops and toss lightly. Set aside. Mix butter, sugar, and vanilla until fluffy. Beat in egg. Add flour mixture and stir until well blended. Drop by rounded teaspoons on a well-greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 5 minutes on the pan; then remove cookies to a rack.

Notes:
Gumdrops will cut easily if you use a kitchen shears dipped into cold water occasionally. Do not use licorice gumdrops.

Love At Home

There is beauty all around
When there's love at home.
There is joy in every sound
When there's love at home.

Roses bloom beneath our feet,
All the earth is a garden sweet,
Making life a bliss complete,
When there's love at home.
